27:27 So Jacob 2  went over and kissed him. When Isaac caught the scent 3  of his clothing, he blessed him, saying,

“Yes, 4  my son smells

like the scent of an open field

which the Lord has blessed.

[37:29]  1 tn Heb “and look, Joseph was not in the cistern.” By the use of וְהִנֵּה (vÿhinneh, “and look”), the narrator invites the reader to see the situation through Reuben’s eyes.
