[5:32]  1 tn Heb “Noah.” The pronoun (“he”) has been employed in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[10:15]  2 tn Heb “fathered.”

[10:15]  3 sn Sidon was the foremost city in Phoenicia; here Sidon may be the name of its founder.

[10:15]  4 tn Some see a reference to “Hittites” here (cf. NIV), but this seems unlikely. See the note on the phrase “sons of Heth” in Gen 23:3.

[50:1]  3 tn Heb “fell on.” The expression describes Joseph’s unrestrained sorrow over Jacob’s death; he probably threw himself across the body and embraced his father.
