Hebrews 11:3
Context11:3 By faith we understand that the worlds 6 were set in order at God’s command, 7 so that the visible has its origin in the invisible. 8

[3:12] 2 tn Grk “brothers.” See note on the phrase “brothers and sisters” in 2:11.
[3:12] 3 tn Grk “that there not be in any of you.”
[3:12] 4 tn Or “deserts,” “rebels against.”
[3:12] 5 tn Grk “in forsaking the living God.”
[11:3] 6 tn Grk “ages.” The temporal (ages) came to be used of the spatial (what exists in those time periods). See Heb 1:2 for same usage.
[11:3] 7 tn Grk “by God’s word.”
[11:3] 8 sn The Greek phrasing emphasizes this point by negating the opposite: “so that what is seen did not come into being from things that are visible.”
