  When we gather at last over Jordan, And the ransomed in glory we see, As the numberless sands of the seashore— What a wonderful sight that will be! Refrain Numberless as the sands of the seashore! Hosea 9:13

• [Hos 9:13] God Made Me For Himself

  God made me for Himself, to serve Him here With love’s pure service and in filial fear; To show His praise, for Him to labor now; Then see His glory where the angels bow. All needful grace was mine, through His dear Son, Whose life and death my full salvation won; The grace that would have strengthened me, and taught; Grace that would crown me when my work was wrought. And I, poor sinner, cast it all away; Lived for the toil or pleasure of each day; As if no Christ had shed His precious blood, As if I owed no homage to my God. O Holy Spirit, with Thy fire divine, Melt into tears this thankless heart of mine; Teach me to love what once I seemed to hate, And live to God, before it be too late.

  Behold, the heathen waits to know The joy the Gospel will bestow; The exiled captive, to receive The freedom Jesus has to give. Come, let us, with a grateful heart, In this blest labor share a part; Our prayers and offerings gladly bring To aid the triumphs of our King. Our hearts exult in songs of praise That we have seen these latter days When our Redeemer shall be known Where Satan long hath held his throne. Where’er His hand hath spread the skies Sweet incense to His Name shall rise; And slave and freeman, Greek and Jew, By sovereign grace be formed anew.

• [Hos 4:1] Our Guilt Do We Confess Today

  Our guilt do we confess today, Your law did we reject; So little truth and mercy here— Your Word sees no respect. We swear, we lie, we kill and steal, See harlotry increase; We break restraint, and blood on blood, Ignore the law of peace. Our land, it mourns, we waste away, For wisdom seek we not; Destruction will our portion be, If God we have forgot. To crystals, stone, and gold we pray, Those worthless things we preach; Those sightless eyes, unhearing ears, In vain do we beseech. We well deserve the charge You bring, Upon us lays the blame; Contentious, proud, we stumble on, Our glory turns to shame. Show us that only in Your Word Do truth and mercy live; Send priests and prophets to instruct, And Your pure wisdom give. Have mercy, Lord, reject us not, Draw us to seek Your face; Direct our feet and deeds to You, Restore us by Your grace. Lord, melt these icy hearts of stone, Make us Your counsel seek, And sacrifice to You alone, With humble hearts and meek.
