10:30 Shout out, daughter of Gallim!

Pay attention, Laishah!

Answer her, Anathoth! ¹ 

Isaiah 24:14

24:14 They ²  lift their voices and shout joyfully;

they praise ³  the majesty of the Lord in the west.

[10:30]  ¹ tc The Hebrew text reads “Poor [is] Anathoth.” The parallelism is tighter if עֲנִיָּה (’aniyyah,“poor”) is emended to עֲנִיהָ (’aniha, “answer her”). Note how the preceding two lines have an imperative followed by a proper name.

[24:14]  ² sn The remnant of the nations (see v. 13) may be the unspecified subject. If so, then those who have survived the judgment begin to praise God.

[24:14]  ³ tn Heb “they yell out concerning.”
