Isaiah 10:8

10:8 Indeed, ¹  he says:

“Are not my officials all kings?

Isaiah 40:1

The Lord Returns to Jerusalem

40:1 “Comfort, comfort my people,”

says your ²  God.

Isaiah 40:25

40:25 “To whom can you compare me? Whom do I resemble?”

says the Holy One. ³

[40:1]  ² tn The pronominal suffix is second masculine plural. The identity of the addressee is uncertain: (1) God’s people may be addressed, or (2) the unidentified heralds commanded to comfort Jerusalem.
