[14:23] 1 tn Heb “I will make her into a possession of wild animals.” It is uncertain what type of animal קִפֹּד (qippod) refers to. Some suggest a rodent (cf. NASB, NRSV “hedgehog”), others an owl (cf, NAB, NIV, TEV).
[14:23] 2 tn Heb “I will sweep her away with the broom of destruction.”
[23:11] 3 tn Heb “his hand he stretched out over the sea.”
[23:11] 4 tn Heb “the Lord.” For stylistic reasons the pronoun (“he”) has been used in the translation here.
[23:11] 5 tn Heb “concerning Canaan, to destroy her fortresses.” NIV, NLT translate “Canaan” as “Phoenicia” here.
[48:19] 5 tn Heb “like sand”; NCV “as many as the grains of sand.”
[48:19] 6 tn Heb “and the issue from your inner parts.”
[48:19] 7 tn Heb “and his name would not be cut off and would not be destroyed from before me.”
