20:1 The Lord revealed the following message during the year in which King Sargon of Assyria sent his commanding general to Ashdod, and he fought against it and captured it. ³

6:1 In the year of King Uzziah’s death, ⁴  I saw the sovereign master ⁵  seated on a high, elevated throne. The hem of his robe filled the temple.

[14:28]  ² tn Heb “this oracle came.”

[20:1]  ³ tn Heb “In the year the commanding general came to Ashdod, when Sargon king of Assyria sent him, and he fought against Ashdod and captured it.”

[6:1]  ⁵ sn That is, approximately 740 b.c.

[6:1]  ⁶ tn The Hebrew term translated “sovereign master” here and in vv. 8, 11 is אֲדֹנָי (’adonay).
