16:12 When the Moabites plead with all their might at their high places, ¹ 

and enter their temples to pray, their prayers will be ineffective! ²

26:1 At that time ³  this song will be sung in the land of Judah:

“We have a strong city!

The Lord’s ⁴  deliverance, like walls and a rampart, makes it secure. ⁵

43:13 From this day forward I am he;

no one can deliver from my power; ⁶ 

I will act, and who can prevent it?”

[16:12]  ² tn Heb “when he appears, when he grows tired, Moab on the high places, and enters his temple to pray, he will not prevail.” It is possible that “when he grows tired” is an explanatory gloss for the preceding “when he appears.”
