[2:7] 1 tn Or “treasuries”; KJV “treasures.”
[2:7] 2 sn Judah’s royal bureaucracy had accumulated great wealth and military might, in violation of Deut 17:16-17.
[22:18] 3 tn Heb “and he will tightly [or “surely”] wind you [with] winding like a ball, to a land broad of hands [i.e., “sides”].”
[22:18] 4 tn Heb “and there the chariots of your splendor.”
[22:18] 5 sn Apparently the reference to chariots alludes to Shebna’s excessive pride, which in turn brings disgrace to the royal family.
[66:15] 5 sn Chariots are like a windstorm in their swift movement and in the way that they kick up dust.
[66:15] 6 tn Heb “to cause to return with the rage of his anger, and his battle cry [or “rebuke”] with flames of fire.”
