Context

24:2 Everyone will suffer – the priest as well as the people,¹

the master as well as the servant,²

the elegant lady as well as the female attendant,³

the seller as well as the buyer,⁴

the borrower as well as the lender,⁵

the creditor as well as the debtor.⁶

Isaiah 14:1

Context

14:1 The Lord will certainly have compassion on Jacob;⁷ he will again choose Israel as his special people⁸ and restore⁹ them to their land. Resident foreigners will join them and unite with the family¹⁰ of Jacob.

Isaiah 56:3

Context

56:3 No foreigner who becomes a follower of¹¹ the Lord should say,

‘The Lord will certainly¹² exclude me from his people.’

The eunuch should not say,

‘Look, I am like a dried-up tree.’”

Isaiah 56:6

Context

56:6 As for foreigners who become followers of¹³ the Lord and serve him,

who love the name of the Lord and want to be his servants –

all who observe the Sabbath and do not defile it,

and who are faithful to¹⁴ my covenant –
