Isaiah 24:3

Context

24:3 The earth will be completely devastated

and thoroughly ransacked.

For the Lord has decreed this judgment. 1 

Isaiah 17:14

This is the fate of those who try to plunder us,

the destiny of those who try to loot us! 4

The marginal reading (Qere) is מְשִׁיסָּה (mÿshissah), a noun meaning “plunder.” In this case one could translate “Who handed Jacob over as plunder?”

[42:24]  9 tn Heb “they were not willing in his ways to walk, and they did not listen to his law.”
