Isaiah 3:14

3:14 The Lord comes to pronounce judgment

on the leaders of his people and their officials.

He says, ¹  “It is you ²  who have ruined ³  the vineyard! ⁴ 

You have stashed in your houses what you have stolen from the poor. ⁵ 

Isaiah 10:2

10:2 to keep the poor from getting fair treatment,

and to deprive ⁶  the oppressed among my people of justice,

so they can steal what widows own,

and loot what belongs to orphans. ⁷ 

Isaiah 41:17

41:17 The oppressed and the poor look for water, but there is none;

their tongues are parched from thirst.

I, the Lord, will respond to their prayers; ⁸ 

I, the God of Israel, will not abandon them.

Isaiah 49:13

49:13 Shout for joy, O sky! ⁹ 

Rejoice, O earth!

Let the mountains give a joyful shout!

For the Lord consoles his people

Isaiah 58:7

58:7 I want you ¹¹  to share your food with the hungry

and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people. ¹² 

When you see someone naked, clothe him!

Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood! ¹³

[3:14]  ³ tn The verb בָּעַר (ba’ar, “graze, ruin”; HALOT 146 s.v. II בער) is a homonym of the more common בָּעַר (ba’ar, “burn”; see HALOT 145 s.v. I בער).
