Isaiah 30:15

30:15 For this is what the master, the Lord, the Holy One of Israel says:

“If you repented and patiently waited for me, you would be delivered; ¹ 

if you calmly trusted in me you would find strength, ² 

but you are unwilling.

Isaiah 30:30

30:30 The Lord will give a mighty shout ³ 

and intervene in power, ⁴ 

with furious anger and flaming, destructive fire, ⁵ 

with a driving rainstorm and hailstones.

[30:15]  ¹ tn Heb “in returning and in quietness you will be delivered.” Many English versions render the last phrase “shall be saved” or something similar (e.g., NAB, NASB, NRSV).

[30:15]  ² tn Heb “in quietness and in trust is your strength” (NASB and NRSV both similar).

[30:30]  ³ tn Heb “the Lord will cause the splendor of his voice to be heard.”

[30:30]  ⁴ tn Heb “and reveal the lowering of his arm.”

[30:30]  ⁵ tn Heb “and a flame of consuming fire.”
