[34:12]  1 tn Heb “will be nothing”; NCV, TEV, NLT “will all be gone.”

[41:12]  2 tn Heb “the men of your struggle”; NASB “those who quarrel with you.”

[41:12]  3 tn Heb “the men of your battle”; NAB “who do battle with you.”

[45:6]  3 tn The words “I do this” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[45:6]  4 tn Heb “they” (so KJV, ASV); TEV, CEV “everyone”; NLT “all the world.”

[45:22]  4 tn The Niphal imperative with prefixed vav (ו) indicates purpose after the preceding imperative. The Niphal probably has a tolerative sense, “allow yourselves to be delivered, accept help.”

[46:9]  5 tn Heb “remember the former things, from antiquity”; KJV, ASV “the former things of old.”

[46:9]  6 tn Heb “and there is no other” (so NASB, NIV, NRSV).

[54:15]  6 tn The infinitive absolute precedes the finite verb here for emphasis.

[54:15]  7 tn Heb “will fall over you.” The expression נָפַל עַל (nafalal) can mean “attack,” but here it means “fall over to,” i.e., “surrender to.”
