Isaiah 37:4

37:4 Perhaps the Lord your God will hear all these things the chief adviser has spoken on behalf of his master, the king of Assyria, who sent him to taunt the living God. ¹  When the Lord your God hears, perhaps he will punish him for the things he has said. ²  So pray for this remnant that remains.’” ³ 

Isaiah 44:13

44:13 A carpenter takes measurements; ⁴ 

he marks out an outline of its form; ⁵ 

he scrapes ⁶  it with chisels,

and marks it with a compass.

He patterns it after the human form, ⁷ 

like a well-built human being,

and puts it in a shrine. ⁸ 

Isaiah 44:15

44:15 A man uses it to make a fire; ⁹ 

he takes some of it and warms himself.

Yes, he kindles a fire and bakes bread.

Then he makes a god and worships it;

he makes an idol and bows down to it. ¹⁰ 

Isaiah 51:23

who said to you, ‘Lie down, so we can walk over you.’

You made your back like the ground,

and like the street for those who walked over you.”

Isaiah 66:5

66:5 Hear the word of the Lord,

you who respect what he has to say! ¹² 

Your countrymen, ¹³  who hate you

and exclude you, supposedly for the sake of my name,

say, “May the Lord be glorified,

then we will witness your joy.” ¹⁴ 

But they will be put to shame.
