Isaiah 5:25

Context

5:25 So the Lord is furious 1  with his people;

he lifts 2  his hand and strikes them.

The mountains shake,

and corpses lie like manure 3  in the middle of the streets.

Despite all this, his anger does not subside,

and his hand is ready to strike again. 4

Isaiah 18:7

Context

18:7 At that time

tribute will be brought to the Lord who commands armies,

by a people that are tall and smooth-skinned,

a people that are feared far and wide,

a nation strong and victorious,

whose land rivers divide. 5

The tribute 6  will be brought to the place where the Lord who commands armies has chosen to reside, on Mount Zion. 7

Isaiah 41:7

Context

41:7 The craftsman encourages the metalsmith,

the one who wields the hammer encourages 8  the one who pounds on the anvil.

He approves the quality of the welding, 9

and nails it down so it won’t fall over.”

Isaiah 42:16

Context

42:16 I will lead the blind along an unfamiliar way; 10

I will guide them down paths they have never traveled. 11

I will turn the darkness in front of them into light,

and level out the rough ground. 12

This is what I will do for them.

I will not abandon them.

Isaiah 46:7

Context

46:7 They put it on their shoulder and carry it;

they put it in its place and it just stands there;

it does not 13  move from its place.

Even when someone cries out to it, it does not reply;

it does not deliver him from his distress.
