[13:14]  1 tn Or “like a gazelle being chased.” The verb that introduces this verse serves as a discourse particle and is untranslated; see note on “in the future” in 2:2.

[13:14]  2 tn Heb “his people” (cf. KJV, NASB, NIV, NRSV) or “his nation” (cf. TEV “their own countries”).

[29:21]  1 tn Heb “the ones who make a man a sinner with a word.” The Hiphil of חָטָא (khata’) here has a delocutive sense: “declare a man sinful/guilty.”

[29:21]  2 sn Legal disputes were resolved at the city gate, where the town elders met. See Amos 5:10.

[29:21]  3 tn Heb “and deprive by emptiness the innocent.”

[32:10]  1 tn Heb “days upon a year.”

[32:10]  2 tn Or perhaps, “olive.” See 24:13.

[45:4]  1 tn Or “know” (NCV, NRSV, TEV, NLT); NIV “acknowledge.”

[45:6]  1 tn The words “I do this” are supplied in the translation for stylistic reasons.

[45:6]  2 tn Heb “they” (so KJV, ASV); TEV, CEV “everyone”; NLT “all the world.”

[49:13]  1 tn Or “O heavens.” The Hebrew term שָׁמַיִם (shamayim) may be translated “heavens” or “sky” depending on the context.

[49:13]  2 tn Heb “his” (so KJV, NAB, NASB, NIV, NRSV).

[56:12]  1 tn The words “each one says” are supplied in the translation for clarification.

[56:12]  2 tn Heb “great, [in] abundance, very much,” i.e., “very great indeed.” See HALOT 452 s.v. יֶתֶר.
