Isaiah 50:10

50:10 Who among you fears the Lord?

Who obeys ¹  his servant?

Whoever walks in deep darkness, ² 

without light,

should trust in the name of the Lord

and rely on his God.

Isaiah 62:1

The Lord Takes Delight in Zion

62:1 “For the sake of Zion I will not be silent;

for the sake of Jerusalem ³  I will not be quiet,

until her vindication shines brightly ⁴ 

and her deliverance burns like a torch.”

[50:10]  ¹ tn Heb “[who] listens to the voice of his servant?” The interrogative is understood by ellipsis (note the preceding line).

[50:10]  ² tn The plural indicates degree. Darkness may refer to exile and/or moral evil.
