Isaiah 50:11

50:11 Look, all of you who start a fire

and who equip yourselves with ¹  flaming arrows, ² 

walk ³  in the light ⁴  of the fire you started

and among the flaming arrows you ignited! ⁵ 

This is what you will receive from me: ⁶ 

you will lie down in a place of pain. ⁷ 

Isaiah 58:3

58:3 They lament, ⁸  ‘Why don’t you notice when we fast?

Why don’t you pay attention when we humble ourselves?’

Look, at the same time you fast, you satisfy your selfish desires, ⁹ 

you oppress your workers. ¹⁰ 

Isaiah 60:9

60:9 Indeed, the coastlands ¹¹  look eagerly for me,

the large ships ¹²  are in the lead,

bringing your sons from far away,

along with their silver and gold,

to honor the Lord your God, ¹³ 

the Holy One of Israel, ¹⁴  for he has bestowed honor on you.

Isaiah 61:10

61:10 I ¹⁵  will greatly rejoice ¹⁶  in the Lord;

I will be overjoyed because of my God. ¹⁷ 

For he clothes me in garments of deliverance;

he puts on me a robe symbolizing vindication. ¹⁸ 

I look like a bridegroom when he wears a turban as a priest would;

I look like a bride when she puts on her jewelry. ¹⁹ 

[50:11]  ¹ tc Several more recent commentators have proposed an emendation of מְאַזְּרֵי (mÿ’azzÿre, “who put on”) to מְאִירִי (mÿ’iri, “who light”). However, both Qumran scrolls of Isaiah and the Vulgate support the MT reading (cf. NIV, ESV).
