50:10 Who among you fears the Lord?

Who obeys 4  his servant?

Whoever walks in deep darkness, 5 

without light,

should trust in the name of the Lord

and rely on his God.

[8:22]  1 tn Heb “and behold” (so KJV, ASV, NASB).

[8:22]  2 tn The precise meaning of מְעוּף (mÿuf) is uncertain; the word occurs only here. See BDB 734 s.v. מָעוּף.

[8:22]  3 tn Heb “ and darkness, pushed.” The word מְנֻדָּח (mÿnudakh) appears to be a Pual participle from נדח (“push”), but the Piel is unattested for this verb and the Pual occurs only here.

[50:10]  4 tn Heb “[who] listens to the voice of his servant?” The interrogative is understood by ellipsis (note the preceding line).

[50:10]  5 tn The plural indicates degree. Darkness may refer to exile and/or moral evil.
