Context1:27 The men of Manasseh did not conquer Beth Shan, Taanach, or their surrounding towns. Nor did they conquer the people living in Dor, Ibleam, Megiddo 1 or their surrounding towns. 2 The Canaanites managed 3 to remain in those areas. 4

Context10:6 The Israelites again did evil in the Lord’s sight. 5 They worshiped 6 the Baals and the Ashtars, 7 as well as the gods of Syria, Sidon, 8 Moab, the Ammonites, and the Philistines. 9 They abandoned the Lord and did not worship 10 him.
