Judges 1:3

1:3 The men of Judah said to their relatives, the men of Simeon, ¹  “Invade our allotted land with us and help us attack the Canaanites. ²  Then we ³  will go with you into your allotted land.” So the men of Simeon went with them.

Judges 21:10

21:10 So the assembly sent 12,000 capable warriors ⁴  against Jabesh Gilead. ⁵  They commanded them, “Go and kill with your swords ⁶  the inhabitants of Jabesh Gilead, including the women and little children.

Judges 21:21

21:21 and keep your eyes open. ⁷  When you see ⁸  the daughters of Shiloh coming out to dance in the celebration, ⁹  jump out from the vineyards. Each one of you, catch yourself a wife from among the daughters of Shiloh and then go home to the land of Benjamin.

[1:3]  ³ tn Heb “I.” The Hebrew pronoun is singular, agreeing with the collective singular “Judah” earlier in the verse. English style requires a plural pronoun here, however.

[21:10]  ⁴ tn Heb “men, sons of strength.”

[21:10]  ⁵ tn Heb “there.”

[21:10]  ⁶ tn Heb “the edge of the sword.”

[21:21]  ⁷ tn Heb “and look.”
