Civil Strife Mars the Victory

12:1 The Ephraimites assembled ¹  and crossed over to Zaphon. They said to Jephthah, “Why did you go and fight ²  with the Ammonites without asking ³  us to go with you? We will burn your house down right over you!” ⁴ 

Judges 18:9

18:9 They said, “Come on, let’s attack them, ⁵  for ⁶  we saw their land and it is very good. You seem lethargic, ⁷  but don’t hesitate ⁸  to invade and conquer ⁹  the land.

Judges 19:9

19:9 When the man got ready to leave ¹⁰  with his concubine and his servant, ¹¹  his father-in-law, the girl’s father, said to him, “Look! The day is almost over! ¹²  Stay another night! Since the day is over, ¹³  stay another night here and have a good time. You can get up early tomorrow and start your trip home.” ¹⁴
