Judges 19:13-14

19:13 He said to his servant, ¹  “Come on, we will go into one of the other towns ²  and spend the night in Gibeah or Ramah.” 19:14 So they traveled on, ³  and the sun went down when they were near Gibeah in the territory of Benjamin. ⁴ 

Judges 20:9

20:9 Now this is what we will do to Gibeah: We will attack the city as the lot dictates. ⁵ 

Judges 20:14

20:14 The Benjaminites came from their cities and assembled at Gibeah ⁶  to make war against the Israelites.

Judges 20:20

20:20 The men of Israel marched out to fight Benjamin; they ⁷  arranged their battle lines against Gibeah.

[19:13]  ¹ tn Or “young man.”

[19:13]  ² tn Heb “we will enter one of the places.”

[19:14]  ³ tn Heb “and they passed by and went.”

[19:14]  ⁴ tn Heb “which belongs to Benjamin.”

[20:9]  ⁵ tn Heb “against her by lot.” The verb “we will go up” (נַעֲלֶה, na’aleh) has probably been accidentally omitted before “against her” (עָלֶיהָ, ’aleha).

[20:14]  ⁷ tn Heb “assembled from the cities at Gibeah.”

[20:20]  ⁹ tn Heb “the men of Israel.” The noun phrase has been replaced by the pronoun (“they”) in the translation for stylistic reasons.
