3:4 They were left to test Israel, so the Lord would know if his people would obey the commands he gave their ancestors through Moses. 1 

Judges 2:17

2:17 But they did not obey 2  their leaders. Instead they prostituted themselves to other gods and worshiped 3  them. They quickly turned aside from the path 4  their ancestors 5  had walked. Their ancestors had obeyed the Lord’s commands, but they did not. 6 

Judges 6:19

Context

6:19 Gideon went and prepared a young goat, 7  along with unleavened bread made from an ephah of flour. He put the meat in a basket and the broth in a pot. He brought the food 8  to him under the oak tree and presented it to him.
