[6:19]  1 tn Heb “a kid from among the goats.”

[6:19]  2 tn The words “the food” are not in the Hebrew text (an implied direct object). They are supplied in the translation for clarification and for stylistic reasons.

[6:20]  3 tn Heb “Take the meat…and put [it] on this rock.”

[6:20]  4 tn Heb “and he did so.”

[6:1]  5 tn Heb “in the eyes of.”

[6:1]  6 tn Heb “gave them into the hand of.”

[18:30]  7 tn Heb “erected for themselves.”

[18:30]  8 tn Heb “son.”

[18:30]  9 tc Several ancient textual witnesses, including some LXX mss and the Vulgate, support the reading “Moses” (מֹשֶׁה, mosheh) here. Many Hebrew mss have a nun (נ) suspended above the name between the first two letters (מנשׁה), suggesting the name Manasseh (מְנַשֶּׁה, mÿnasheh). This is probably a scribal attempt to protect Moses’ reputation. For discussion, see G. F. Moore, Judges (ICC), 401-2.

[18:30]  10 tn Heb “sons.”
