[6:3]  1 tn Heb “Whenever Israel sowed seed.”

[6:3]  2 tn Heb “Midian, Amalek, and the sons of the east would go up, they would go up against him.” The translation assumes that וְעָלוּ (vÿalu) is dittographic (note the following עָלָיו, ’alayv).

[6:33]  3 tn Heb “Midian, Amalek, and the sons of the east.”

[6:33]  4 tn The words “the Jordan River” are not in the Hebrew text, but are supplied in the translation for clarification.

[10:12]  5 tc The translation follows the LXX which reads “Midian”; the Hebrew text has “Maon.”

[10:12]  6 tn The words “Did I not deliver you” are interpretive. The Hebrew text simply reads, “Is it not from Egypt…when they oppressed you?” Perhaps the incomplete sentence reflects the Lord’s frustration.

[10:12]  7 tn Heb “hand.”

[3:13]  7 tn Heb “and he gathered to him.”

[7:12]  9 tn Heb “Midian, Amalek, and the sons of the east were falling in the valley like locusts in great number.”
