8:30 Gideon fathered seventy sons through his many wives. ¹

20:14 The Benjaminites came from their cities and assembled at Gibeah ²  to make war against the Israelites.

[8:30]  ¹ tn Heb “Gideon had seventy sons who went out from his thigh, for he had many wives.” The Hebrew word יָרֵךְ (yarekh, “thigh”) is a euphemism here for the penis.

[20:14]  ² tn Heb “assembled from the cities at Gibeah.”
