Judges 8:5

8:5 He said to the men of Succoth, “Give ¹  some loaves of bread to the men ²  who are following me, ³  because they are exhausted. I am chasing Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.”

Judges 19:11

19:11 When they got near Jebus, it was getting quite late ⁴  and the servant ⁵  said to his master, “Come on, let’s stop at ⁶  this Jebusite city and spend the night in it.”

[8:5]  ¹ tn Or perhaps, “sell.”

[8:5]  ² tn Heb “people.” The translation uses “men” because these were warriors and in ancient Israelite culture would have been exclusively males.

[8:5]  ³ tn Heb “who are at my feet.”

[19:11]  ⁴ tn Heb “and the day was descending greatly.”

[19:11]  ⁵ tn Or “young man.”
