Context

10:7 Everyone should revere you, O King of all nations, 1 

because you deserve to be revered. 2 

For there is no one like you

among any of the wise people of the nations nor among any of their kings. 3

Context

51:52 Yes, but the time will certainly come,” 4  says the Lord, 5 

“when I will punish her idols.

Throughout her land the mortally wounded will groan.

[10:7]  1 tn Heb “Who should not revere you…?” The question is rhetorical and expects a negative answer.

[10:7]  2 tn Heb “For it is fitting to you.”

[10:7]  3 tn Heb “their royalty/dominion.” This is a case of substitution of the abstract for the concrete “royalty, royal power” for “kings” who exercise it.

[51:52]  4 tn Heb “that being so, look, days are approaching.” Here לָכֵן (lakhen) introduces the Lord’s response to the people’s lament (v. 51). It has the force of “yes, but” or “that may be true.” See Judg 11:8 and BDB 486-87 s.v. כֵּן 3.d.
