Jeremiah 52:25
Context52:25 From the city he took an official who was in charge of the soldiers, seven of the king’s advisers who were discovered in the city, an official army secretary who drafted citizens 2 for military service, and sixty citizens who were discovered in the middle of the city.

[20:1] 1 tn Heb “chief overseer/officer.” The translation follows the suggestion of P. C. Craigie, P. H. Kelley, J. F. Drinkard, Jeremiah 1-25 (WBC), 267, based on the parallel passage in 29:26-27 where this official appears to have been in charge of maintaining order in the temple.
[52:25] 2 tn Heb “men, from the people of the land” (also later in this verse).
