Jeremiah 4:31

Context

4:31 In fact, 3  I hear a cry like that of a woman in labor,

a cry of anguish like that of a woman giving birth to her first baby.

It is the cry of Daughter Zion 4  gasping for breath,

reaching out for help, 5  saying, “I am done in! 6

My life is ebbing away before these murderers!”

Jeremiah 31:32

[31:32]  5 tn The word “old” is not in the text but is implicit in the use of the word “new.” It is supplied in the translation for greater clarity.
