24:13 There are those 1  who rebel against the light;

they do not know its ways

and they do not stay on its paths.

Job 34:27

34:27 because they have turned away from following him,

[24:13]  1 tn Heb “They are among those who.”

[34:27]  2 tn The verb הִשְׂכִּילוּ (hiskilu) means “to be prudent; to be wise.” From this is derived the idea of “be wise in understanding God’s will,” and “be successful because of prudence” – i.e., successful with God.

[26:14]  3 tn Heb “the ends of his ways,” meaning “the fringes.”

[26:14]  4 tn Heb “how little is the word.” Here “little” means a “fraction” or an “echo.”
