6:33 For the bread of God is the one who 1  comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.” 6:34 So they said to him, “Sir, 2  give us this bread all the time!”

John 6:51

Context
6:51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats from this bread he will live forever. The bread 3  that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

[6:34]  2 tn Or “Lord.” The Greek κύριος (kurios) means both “Sir” and “Lord.” In this passage it is not at all clear at this point that the crowd is acknowledging Jesus as Lord. More likely this is simply a form of polite address (“sir”).

[6:51]  3 tn Grk “And the bread.”
