John 6:44

6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him, ¹  and I will raise him up at the last day.

John 10:10

10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill ²  and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly. ³ 

[6:44]  ¹ tn Or “attracts him,” or “pulls him.” The word is used of pulling or dragging, often by force. It is even used once of magnetic attraction (A. Oepke, TDNT 2:503).

[10:10]  ² tn That is, “to slaughter” (in reference to animals).

[10:10]  ³ tn That is, more than one would normally expect or anticipate.
