9:10 So they asked him, 1  “How then were you made to see?” 2  9:11 He replied, 3  “The man called Jesus made mud, 4  smeared it 5  on my eyes and told me, 6  ‘Go to Siloam and wash.’ So I went and washed, and was able to see.” 7  9:12 They said 8  to him, “Where is that man?” 9  He replied, 10  “I don’t know.”

[9:10]  1 tn Grk “So they were saying to him.”

[9:10]  2 tn Grk “How then were your eyes opened” (an idiom referring to restoration of sight).

[9:11]  3 tn Grk “That one answered.”
