Joshua 10:19

10:19 But don’t you delay! Chase your enemies and catch them! ¹  Don’t allow them to retreat to ²  their cities, for the Lord your God is handing them over to you.” ³ 

Joshua 15:19

15:19 She answered, “Please give me a special present. ⁴  Since you have given me land in the Negev, now give me springs of water. So he gave her both upper and lower springs.

[10:19]  ³ tn Heb “has given them into your hand.” The verbal form is a perfect of certitude, emphasizing the certainty of the action.

[15:19]  ⁴ tn Elsewhere this Hebrew word (בְּרָכָה, bÿrakhah) is often translated “blessing,” but here it refers to a gift (as in Gen 33:11; 1 Sam 25:27; 30:26; and 2 Kgs 5:15).
