10:6 The men of Gibeon sent this message to Joshua at the camp in Gilgal, “Do not abandon 1  your subjects! 2  Rescue us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings living in the hill country are attacking us.” 3

9:11 Our leaders and all who live in our land told us, ‘Take provisions for your journey and go meet them. Tell them, “We are willing to be your subjects. 4  Make a treaty with us.”’

Joshua 22:28

22:28 We said, ‘If in the future they say such a thing 5  to us or to our descendants, we will reply, “See the model of the Lord’s altar that our ancestors 6  made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a reminder to us and you.”’ 7
