Joshua 14:13-14
Context14:13 Joshua asked God to empower Caleb son of Jephunneh and assigned him Hebron. 1 14:14 So Hebron remains the assigned land of Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite to this very day 2 because he remained loyal to the Lord God of Israel.

Context14:2 The land assignments to the nine-and-a-half tribes were made by drawing lots, as the Lord had instructed Moses. 3

Context2:1 Joshua son of Nun sent two spies out from Shittim secretly and instructed them: 4 “Find out what you can about the land, especially Jericho.” 5 They stopped at the house of a prostitute named Rahab and spent the night there. 6

Context15:10 It then turned from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, crossed to the slope of Mount Jearim on the north (that is Kesalon), descended to Beth Shemesh, and crossed to Timnah.

[14:14] 2 tn Heb “Therefore Hebron belongs to Caleb son of Jephunneh for an inheritance to this day.”

[2:1] 4 tn Heb “Joshua, son of Nun, sent from Shittim two men, spies, secretly, saying.”
[2:1] 5 tn Heb “go, see the land, and Jericho.”
[2:1] 6 tn Heb “they went and entered the house of a woman, a prostitute, and her name was Rahab, and they slept there.”
[4:1] 7 tn Heb “And when all the nation had finished crossing the Jordan.”
