[15:17]  1 tn “Caleb’s brother” may refer either to Othniel or to Kenaz. If Kenaz was the brother of Caleb, Othniel is Caleb’s nephew.

[15:17]  2 tn Heb “he”; the referent (Caleb) has been specified in the translation for clarity.

[6:22]  3 tn Heb “the house of the woman, the prostitute.”

[6:22]  4 tn Heb “and bring out from there the woman and all who belong to her as you swore on oath to her.”

[2:4]  5 tn Heb “The woman took the two men and hid him.” The third masculine singular pronominal suffix on “hid” has to be a scribal error (see GKC §135.p).

[2:4]  6 tn Heb “the men came to me.” See the note on this phrase in v. 3.

[6:21]  7 tn Heb “all which was in the city.”

[1:14]  11 tn Heb “But you must cross over armed for battle before your brothers, all [you] mighty men of strength.”

[2:1]  13 tn Heb “Joshua, son of Nun, sent from Shittim two men, spies, secretly, saying.”

[2:1]  14 tn Heb “go, see the land, and Jericho.”

[2:1]  15 tn Heb “they went and entered the house of a woman, a prostitute, and her name was Rahab, and they slept there.”

[8:35]  15 tn Heb “There was not a word from all which Moses commanded that Joshua did not read aloud.”

[8:35]  16 tn Heb “walked in their midst.”
