17:9 The border then descended southward to the Valley of Kanah. Ephraim was assigned cities there among the cities of Manasseh, ¹  but the border of Manasseh was north of the valley and ended at the sea.

Joshua 22:25

22:25 The Lord made the Jordan a boundary between us and you Reubenites and Gadites. You have no right to worship the Lord.’ ²  In this way your descendants might cause our descendants to stop obeying ³  the Lord.
