Joshua 2:19

2:19 Anyone who leaves your house will be responsible for his own death – we are innocent in that case! ¹  But if anyone with you in the house is harmed, we will be responsible. ² 

Joshua 10:24

10:24 When they brought the kings out to Joshua, he ³  summoned all the men of Israel and said to the commanders of the troops who accompanied him, “Come here ⁴  and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came up ⁵  and put their feet on their necks.

[2:19]  ¹ tn Heb “Anyone who goes out from the doors of your house to the outside, his blood is on his head. We are innocent.”

[2:19]  ² tn Heb “But anyone who is with you in the house, his blood is on our head if a hand should be on him.”

[10:24]  ³ tn Heb “Joshua.” The translation has replaced the proper name with the pronoun (“he”) because a repetition of the proper name here would be redundant according to English style.

[10:24]  ⁴ tn Or “Draw near.”

[10:24]  ⁵ tn Or “drew near.”
