Context22:23 If we have built 5 an altar for ourselves to turn back from following the Lord by making 6 burnt sacrifices and grain offerings on it, or by offering 7 tokens of peace 8 on it, the Lord himself will punish us. 9

[2:22] 2 tn Heb “the pursuers.” The object (“them”) is added for clarification.
[2:22] 3 tn Heb “the ones chasing them.” This has been rendered as “their pursuers” in the translation to avoid redundancy with the preceding clause.
