Joshua 4:13

4:13 About forty thousand battle-ready troops ¹  marched past the Lord to fight ²  on the plains of Jericho. ³

[6:7]  ⁴ tn An alternative reading is “and they said.” In this case the subject is indefinite and the verb should be translated as passive, “[the army] was told.”
