[4:22]  ² tn Heb “crossed this Jordan”; the word “River” is not in the Hebrew text, but has been supplied to clarify the meaning.

[14:5]  ³ tn Heb “Just as the Lord had commanded Moses, so the sons of Israel did, and they divided up the land.”

[24:10]  ⁵ tn The infinitive absolute follows the finite verb in the Hebrew text and indicates continuation or repetition of the action. Balaam pronounced several oracles of blessing over Israel (see Num 23-24).

[24:10]  ⁶ tn Heb “blessing.” Balaam’s “blessings” were actually prophecies of how God would prosper Israel.
