Joshua 4:8

4:8 The Israelites did just as Joshua commanded. They picked up twelve stones, according to the number of the Israelite tribes, from the middle of the Jordan as the Lord had instructed Joshua. They carried them over with them to the camp and put them there.

Joshua 7:14

7:14 In the morning you must approach in tribal order. ¹  The tribe the Lord selects ²  must approach by clans. The clan the Lord selects must approach by families. ³  The family the Lord selects must approach man by man. ⁴ 

[7:14]  ¹ tn Heb “by your tribes.”

[7:14]  ² tn Heb “takes forcefully, seizes.”

[7:14]  ³ tn Heb “houses.”

[7:14]  ⁴ tn Heb “by men.”
