6:11 So Joshua made sure they marched the ark of the Lord around the city one time. ¹  Then they went back to the camp and spent the night there. ²

3:1 Bright and early the next morning Joshua and the Israelites left Shittim and came to the Jordan. ³  They camped there before crossing the river. ⁴

9:18 The Israelites did not attack them because the leaders of the community had sworn an oath to them in the name of the Lord God of Israel. ⁵  The whole community criticized ⁶  the leaders,

4:3 Instruct them, ‘Pick up twelve stones from the middle of the Jordan, from the very place where the priests ⁷  stand firmly, and carry them over with you and put them in the place where you camp tonight.’”

8:9 Joshua sent them away and they went to their hiding place ⁸  west of Ai, between Bethel ⁹  and Ai. ¹⁰  Joshua spent that night with the army. ¹¹
