Joshua 6:24

6:24 But they burned ¹  the city and all that was in it, except for the silver, gold, and bronze and iron items they put in the treasury of the Lord’s house. ² 

Joshua 8:13

8:13 The army was in position – the main army north of the city and the rear guard west of the city. That night Joshua went into ³  the middle of the valley.

10:19 But don’t you delay! Chase your enemies and catch them! ⁴  Don’t allow them to retreat to ⁵  their cities, for the Lord your God is handing them over to you.” ⁶

[6:24]  ² tn Heb “the treasury of the house of the Lord.” Technically the Lord did not have a “house” yet, so perhaps this refers to the tabernacle using later terminology.

[8:13]  ³ tn Some Hebrew mss read, “spent the night in.”

[10:19]  ⁵ tn Heb “But [as for] you, don’t stand still, chase after your enemies and attack them from the rear.”

[10:19]  ⁷ tn Heb “has given them into your hand.” The verbal form is a perfect of certitude, emphasizing the certainty of the action.

[11:14]  ⁷ tn Heb “but all the people they struck down with the edge of the sword until they destroyed them.”

[18:4]  ¹¹ tn Heb “I will send them so they may arise and walk about in the land and describe it in writing according to their inheritance and come to me.”
