6:25 Yet Joshua spared ¹  Rahab the prostitute, her father’s family, ²  and all who belonged to her. She lives in Israel ³  to this very day because she hid the messengers Joshua sent to spy on Jericho. ⁴

8:1 The Lord told Joshua, “Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! ⁵  Take the whole army with you and march against Ai! ⁶  See, I am handing over to you ⁷  the king of Ai, along with his people, city, and land.

10:28 That day Joshua captured Makkedah and put the sword to it and its king. He annihilated everyone who lived in it; he left no survivors. He did to its king what he had done to the king of Jericho. ⁸
